The Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest invites academic staff, researchers and PhD candidates to the International Research and Innovation Networking Day, a dedicated event for discovering complementary expertise, identifying international partners and developing new collaborative project ideas. The event will create a structured environment in which participants can present their competences, discuss funding opportunities, identify suitable consortium roles and initiate concrete collaborations for Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, Eurostars and COST proposals.

Purpose of the event
The International Research and Innovation Networking Day aims to:
– connect academic staff, researchers and doctoral candidates with complementary expertise;
– facilitate the identification of national and international project partners;
– support the formation and extension of consortia for European funding proposals;
– transform initial research interests into structured project concepts;
– encourage interdisciplinary, interinstitutional and international cooperation;
– establish follow-up working groups for promising project ideas.
What the programme will include
– Brief presentations of participants’ expertise, research interests and institutional capabilities;
– Short competence and project-idea pitches;
– Thematic matchmaking sessions based on research and innovation areas;
– Programme-specific networking tables for Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, Eurostars and COST;
– Discussions on possible consortium roles, including coordinator, project partner, work-package leader, pilot site, training partner and external expert;
– Collaborative project-idea development sessions;
– Identification of missing expertise, target organisations and potential partner countries;
– One-to-one discussions between participants with compatible interests;
– Definition of concrete follow-up actions after the event.
Collaboration and funding tracks
Participants may indicate one or more programmes of interest:
– Erasmus+ education, training, mobility, capacity building and cooperation partnerships;
– Horizon Europe collaborative research and innovation projects;
– Eurostars international research and development cooperation involving innovative SMEs and research partners;
– COST European research networking and interdisciplinary cooperation;
– Other relevant European or international programmes proposed by participants.
Who should attend
The event is intended for:
– University teaching staff interested in international cooperation;
– Researchers and members of research centres or laboratories;
– PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers;
– Research and project managers;
– Erasmus+, international relations and institutional cooperation staff;
– Innovation and technology-transfer professionals;
– Representatives of SMEs, companies and external organisations interested in research and innovation partnerships.
Participants do not need to have a complete project proposal. Early-stage project ideas, identified calls, partially formed consortia and general expressions of collaboration interest are all welcome.
What participants should prepare
To make the matchmaking sessions as effective as possible, participants are invited to prepare:
– a short professional and institutional profile;
– up to eight research keywords;
– a concise description of the expertise, methods, facilities, datasets or networks they can offer;
– a description of the partner profile or complementary expertise they are seeking;
– an optional working title and brief summary of a project idea;
– an optional 60-second competence or project pitch.
The information submitted through the registration form will be used to organise thematic groups and identify potentially relevant matches before the event.
Registration and participation
Registration is required and places are limited to 50 participants.
The detailed agenda, on-site room, technical instructions and online participation link will be communicated to registered participants before the event.
Professional matchmaking profiles will be shared with other registered participants only with the participant’s explicit consent. Email addresses and telephone numbers will not be included in the participant profile list.
