Workshop “First real steps in virtual reality”
Balancing adaptation with tradition, our community has once again organized the traditional workshop dedicated to high school students.
The event was opened by Vice-Rector Horia Necula and Dean Maria-Iuliana Dascălu.
After a brief presentation of the faculty, the students benefited from an introduction to the concepts and technologies of virtual reality, presented by our professor Iulia Stănică. They also had the opportunity to view several virtual reality projects developed at the university, such as:
- Careprofsys UPB Project – “Smart Career Profiler based on a Semantic Data Fusion Framework”
- AdaptRehabVR – “Adaptive training system based on emerging technologies for medical rehabilitation”
- „VR system for autobiographical memories”
In the second part of the day, the activities took place simultaneously in two workshops:
- Developing a mini VR application in Unity3D
- Developing a mini AR application in Adobe Aero
Meanwhile, students had the opportunity to test the virtual reality projects presented in the first part of the day.
We thank our participants, students from the Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages, and students from “Gheorghe Lazăr” National College, “Școala Centrală” National College, “Henri Coandă” Technical College of Aeronautics, “Mihai Eminescu” National College, and “Aurel Rainu” High School from Fieni.
